Dear Fellow Aviators and Friends of VNC:

With the New Year come new opportunities and challenges for VASI. We are a member driven Venice Municipal Airport support organization. Your suggestions, complaints and observations about VNC become the main agenda that the VASI Board acts upon. There are also long term community and pop up issues that must be dealt with in an aggressive yet positive manner. Your feedback is critical to our success as an organization. Please resolve to continue to be the "eyes and ears" of VASI.

Our January 18 meeting will be full of information. It will be one of those "do not miss" nights. Nick Piscitelli has arranged a program featuring Gulf Coast Avionics. Also, Wendy Gaynor, as past President of the local EAA Chapter, will make a short presentation. Herk Strump will also give us the scoop on the Collins Foundation visit in February {see Calendar of Events on back page--ed.}.

The Airport Advisory Board (AAB) is scheduled to meet on January 18th at City Council Chambers, 2:30 PM.

Their topics include airport access and the beginning of a VNC security review. Immediately following the standard AAB meeting a public review of the revised Airport Master Plan will begin. As part of the FAA regulations, the public review process is critical for the development of the Master Plan.  It is hear where VASI can make the most significant difference in terms of the future of the Venice Municipal Airport. If possible attend this meeting. The review requires public input and your comments are needed. A report on these AAB activities will be made during our meeting.

Finally, a reminder please pay your 2006 dues.
